He was a sweetheart of a guy and very generous with offering assistance. I am honored to have been his friend.
B. He didn't know me from Adam, but as a Buddy Holly fan, he graciously invited my wife and myself to stay overnight with him, which we did and enjoyed our time together very much. We all three went to visit Jim Lounsbury, another 50s dj (Chicago "Bandstand") also in Tucson, and we had a good visit there as well.
Freeman was a great person and we enjoyed communicating with him for a few years after that.
Thanks for your tribute to him and the great video (any way to get a copy of that?)
George Nettleton
Willow Street, PA
<><Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2461660698822775373.post-3926290450705050322010-03-31T23:27:57.563-06:002010-03-31T23:27:57.563-06:00Thank you for posting this. I am a former journalism student of Freeman's from the late 60s--he often spoke fondly of his disc jockey days and his interviews, but to see the old photos is very special! He is missed by many he touched.
Mona (Vara) Everettmona (vara) everettnoreply@blogger.com
